Here's the colored version of the inks I posted...although I changed the inks a bit too, admittedly. I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

I colored Kara with a regular old watercolor pallete, and the background (such as it is) is done in watercolor pencil. Kara Yuko Harada is one of my roleplaying characters; she's eleven years old and is starting to think she may be awesome.

Pose is referenced from Black Dress 28 by the lovely Sirquo-Stock.

Ahaha, aaaw. This is so bright and cheerful, it's almost eerie X3

What a happy picture, it's very eye catching, and it's such a cute character. She looks quite a bit older than 11 though, but I'm not sure why. I really like the glow of the eyes :3

Well, 11 can be a tricky age. Remember girls hit puberty young. Referencing off a full-grown woman's picture also likely didn't help, although I did change some proportions and remove pesky things like breasts, hips, and a curvy waistline.

And thank you! I do bright. I've tried to do muted, I'm not actually all that sure how to go about it. :confused:

And girls do hit puberty younger and younger every generation it seems. There was once a kid here, who claimed she was 10. She had bigger breasts than I :o (then again, that's not too difficult, ahah, but still!)

Muted can look lovely, and I'm a secret fan of it, but brighter works are often more fun to do, and muted colours wouldn't suit this anyway, so don't worry :3

Cute! I am particularly fond of the ink details on the braid. I'm glad that I wandered back on to DeviantArt this evening.
